Description
Stumpwork is a type of embroidery that gives your stitching a raised, 3D look. There are lots of different forms of stumpwork to explore. For this class, we will focus on making some of the petals separately, then we will add them to your main embroidery to bring the design to life.
During the day, you will start by making your own stumpwork petals using simple hand stitches – blanket stitch and satin stitch or long/short stitch. Before lunch we will focus on the surface embroidery, creating part of it ready to transfer our stumpwork petal onto it after lunch. For the rest of the day, you will be able to continue completing your petals and surface embroidery.
Full details and requirements list will be provided on booking. Some knowledge of embroidery would be useful for this class, but beginner’s are welcome. The day will run from 10am-4pm.
