Description
This class is a great introduction to the technique of screen printing, a wonderful way to create patterns on fabric with varied colour depth and layered effects. Screen printing involves using a mesh screen, stencil and fabric ink to transfer a design onto fabric. A kit containing the necessary equipment will be provided at the start of the day for a nominal £15 per person.
During the day, you will learn how to make your own screen and stencil, cut out your design, and print it onto fabric. You will also choose your own colours, allowing you to create several prints. One will be used during the class, and the remaining three can be taken home.
Once the prints are dry, we will decorate them further, using your choice of machine stitching; hand embroidery and/or embellishments (decorative details). You can really make your design as creative and individual as you like.
The class is being run by our guest tutor, Sara Morrison. Sara is passionate about textile art and brings warmth and enthusiasm to all her teaching sessions. The session will run from 10am-4pm. Full details will be provided on booking.
